The loved ones of young people unaccounted for after a deadly fire at a venue in a Swiss ski resort are enduring an agonising wait for confirmed information and appealing for information about their family members online.

The fire ripped through the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of the Valais region, in the middle of the night of New Year's Day. Circulated video reveal the roof structure catching alight as beverages with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Officials have stated that it could take considerable time to formally name the those who perished of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of numerous partygoers and wounded another over a hundred.
