The former president's Granddaughter Gets Expert Advice from Tiger Woods Ahead of LPGA Debut

The young golfer will have plenty of high-profile supporters when she starts her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.

This teenage golfer, who happens to be the granddaughter of a former US president, obtained a special exemption to compete at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.

Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, owns numerous courses worldwide and often competes against Kai.

"He's fairly competent. I can't reveal details but we have tight competitions," she revealed.

Kai explained that Trump, unable to come, counseled her: "Just don't get nervous."

"He essentially told me to go out there and relax," she continued.

"In my eyes, he's just a normal grandpa. He won't be there for the tournament. He's occupied with running the country, making him quite busy."

While still amateur, Kai has competed in only three events in 2024 and holds the 461st position in AJGA listings.

But she can receive tips from Tiger Woods, who is dating her mother.

"He stands as the top athlete in the world," Kai expressed.

"Additionally, he's a superior individual. He advised me to play, have fun, and go with whatever happens."

The golfer will compete against multiple most prominent players in the sport at the competition, featuring world number two the champion, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.

Officials commented that Kai's presence exposes golf to wider groups, particularly with the next generation.

Kai has substantial online presence and has started her own clothing and lifestyle label.

Her first tee time at 17:30 GMT.
