Palestinian-American Youth Released After Nine-Month Period in Israel's Imprisonment

An Palestinian-American adolescent after completing nine months in Israel's custody without being charged was released.

Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old at the time of his arrest this past winter throughout the West Bank territory, where he was visiting while residing in Florida for allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.

The US state department said it welcomed Mohammed's liberation.

Currently aged sixteen, was taken to hospital upon gaining freedom, family members reported.

According to them, he appears pale, underweight, while battling health issues developed during imprisonment.

Via family representatives, Mohammed's uncle spoke of the family's "immense relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Currently, we are focused on getting Mohammed the immediate medical attention he requires after being subjected to Israel's abuse and cruel circumstances for months."

US officials announced ongoing to extend consular services to Mohammed's family.

{"The Trump Administration considers paramount to the protection and welfare of American nationals"," the department emphasized.

A group of American legislators endorsed a document to diplomatic officials and President Donald Trump, urging greater action to release him.

Mr Ibrahim, parent of four children who runs an ice cream business in Florida, had earlier stated his son only confessed to throwing stones after being assaulted by soldiers.

He had not seen or communicated with his son following the detention, and only heard regarding the treatment via legal paperwork.

Mohammed was held absent formal charges within Ofer penitentiary in the West Bank.

Additionally housing grown detainees, including individuals found guilty for major terrorist activities and homicide.

Approximately several hundred young Palestinian detainees detained within Israeli facilities, based on prison authority data.

After the teenager's freedom, family representatives announced the family would also continue fighting seeking justice for their relative their cousin Sayfollah.

Initially, defense forces stated they were examining reports a Palestinian civilian was deceased.

Both young men had worked together at their family's ice cream business from Tampa.

No charges have been filed for the cousin's murder.

"We demand the American government to ensure our family's safety," family representatives emphasized.
