British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the sports world offered condolences for the champion in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
