🔗 Share this article A Ton of Anime News Landed During the Holidays The Yuletide season provide a wealth of activities far superior than scanning the updates: opening presents, feasting on holiday treats, and using patience techniques to not yelling at relatives. I hope you managed to enjoy all these things and more. Nevertheless, the world of entertainment never sleeps, and this is especially true for the realm of anime. A slew of exciting announcements came out during the festive period, and should you overlooked a few, here is a compilation of the biggest bits. One-Punch Man Season 3 Will Continue (Come 2027) Perhaps the most shocking piece of news, the notorious controversial season that was season 3 of One-Punch Man wasn't enough to halt further production. The show will come back with a second cour in 2027—such a distant date they might as well have called it season 4. More surprisingly, animation studio J.C. Staff will continue to be at the helm. Thankfully this time, director Shinpei Nagai is on board to direct from the beginning, which could be taken as a good sign. Yet, the promotional image for the second cour is the same image the one used for season 3, just with characters Saitama and Garou facing different directions. This leads one to believe that, by now, they could be trolling the fans. The Ruri Dragon Series Will Be the Premiere Shonen Jump Anime By Kyoto Animation Kyoto Animation has forged a reputation for being an prestigious animation studio, setting itself apart not just for the exceptional quality of its work but for the ethical practices of its employees—a uncommon practice in the industry. Curiously, until now, it had never worked on an anime based on a manga published in Shonen Jump, arguably the most iconic magazine in the field. Ruri Dragon will end that streak, and what a excellent choice it is. The manga by Masaoki Shindo achieved massive popularity when it debuted in 2022 after just a small number of issues, but then went into a two-year hiatus due to the mangaka's health issues. When it came back with a reduced workload, the series proved it maintained the fans' support and positive sentiment, and now fans are thrilled about the forthcoming KyoAni adaptation. The Kingdom Series Season 6 Will Get a Sequel Currently in Production Kingdom is the best-selling, long-running Shueisha manga that is other than One Piece. If you've haven't come across it before, it's because it only just received an English release, but the anime has been going on for a while, and its sixth season was yet another outstanding entry. Apparently that was just the first cour, because a "sequel" has been revealed as in production, and it will almost certainly air in 2026. Science Saru Is Adapting A Witch in Mongolia To Anime A further studio famous for the excellent quality of its projects, Science Saru has given us hit shows of the caliber of Space Dandy, Devilman Crybaby, and, most recently, Dandadan. This time, the studio will be taking on the adaptation of Tomato Soup's manga A Witch's Life in Mongol, which is based on the true story of Fatima, an prominent woman and scholar in the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. Based on the trailer, the anime called Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia will have a highly unique and captivating visual style, which reminds me a bit of Ranking of Kings. Set to premiere in July 2026, this one will without a doubt be on my must-watch list. Tougen Anki Will Return With a Season Two Shortly after the airing of the final episode of the first season, it was revealed that Tougen Anki will be getting a follow-up. Adapted from the Japanese legend of Momotaro, Tougen Anki brings to life the manga by Yura Urushibara. The new season of the anime will adapt the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, but a concrete premiere date has yet to be revealed.
